Well, sorry, guys, but I’m going to do it again. This time it is the Pridwin Hotel... ...Glinda waved her magic wand and everything changed. We were on a flower-filled deck high above the bay, with a breeze that blew away all the memories of the sweaty inferno of the previous days. A heron flew across a sky turning deep rose and a sailboat tacked gracefully into a mooring spot just beneath us... The crab cakes with slightly spicy Jamaican sauce were great, and as crisp as they should be, and the seared blackened sashimi-style tuna was also immaculate....Would the quality continue into the main course? The answer was a resounding yes. Pridwin-caught mahi-mahi and lightly grilled tuna were served with outstanding polenta. Many the East End restaurant that could afford to give the chef’s a call to get their recipe.... The Pridwin is a find....” ................................................ The Pridwin Beach Hotel and Cottages on Shelter Island has a wrap-around deck outside its restaurant where diners savor summer as few others can. Set on Crescent Beach, facing Southold Bay, the Pridwin Restaurant’s graceful porch-like deck is an ideal place to luxuriate in summer sunset scenes of shimmering water and distant sailboats. Nautical-style lanterns are at the center of white cloth-covered tables, hanging plants abound and strings of fairy lights swing overhead in gentle waterfront breezes.
